First Finnish Sauna-experience!

Yesterday we went on a trip to the nearest Lidl. It was -25°C outside and we hoped we only had to walk a couple of km’s. But of course we made a huge detour, so everything was freezing blue! We never felt so cold in our lives! And at the top of the bill the Lidl was closed ofcourse ! 😀

We were lucky there was a gas-station nearby that sold warm coffee!

Conclusion of the day : Don’t ever go on a long trip by foot when it’s -25°C and the destination is closed 😀

After that cold afternoon Tomi asked us to come over to join a real Finnish sauna. Yep! The real Finnish sauna, with a couple of beers and buttnacked! At first we thought it would be a litte uncomfortable, but as soon you step in the sauna it really isn’t awkward at all.

It really was an experience ! Especially when we went outdoor (with a towel), we went from 80°C to minus 20! It was very relaxing and felt very refreshing! You just had to watch your step that you don’t place your feet on any metal floors because we noticed that you will stick to it 😀

After the sauna with some Finnish and french friends Tomi made a very nice drink for us!

The recipe (ordered by quantity) :
– Finnish Vodka
– Twinings Tea (ice-cold)
– Lime
– Honey

As soon we/he started to feel the drink a litte, he wanted us to taste a very hot sauce, Savunaga!(Won the price of hottest sauce in 2008).

He took a bigger portion for himself and really had no problem with it, but we were happy we had a glass of milk nearby to compensate it a little bit.
